Rolf Sachs was born in Switzerland in 1955 as the son of a German entrepreneur and a French mother. Inspired by the art that has surrounded him since childhood, he began to work as an artist in the late 1980s after studying in the USA and Great Britain. The spectrum of his work ranges from furniture, lighting, objects and installations to stage sets for opera and ballet as well as photography and architectural projects. Sachs' interdisciplinary approach formed the basis for creative commissioned work for companies and institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Les Ballets and the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, the Wiesbaden State Theater, the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg, Fortis Watches and others. Sachs has lived and worked in Rome since 2018.
